Panaji, Sep 13: A 29-year-old construction worker was arrested for raping a four-year-old European child near his residence.
The victim's family has been living in India since 2016 and visits Goa often. The family moved to Goa two months ago.
According to a complaint filed with police by the child's mother filed, the previous evening, the child was playing with the daughter of the accused, a native of Bihar, near the rented shed where he lived.
Both families reside in the same neighborhood. The accused has been charged under multiple sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Goa Children’s Act. He is currently under arrest, and police have stated that further investigations are ongoing.
