Mysuru, Sep 21: The world-renowned Mysuru Dasara (2024) will be inaugurated by esteemed writer Ham Pa Nagarajaiah. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the veteran author has been invited for the inauguration.
Ham Pa Nagarajaiah, a former president of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, is a prominent linguist and researcher known for his works under the pseudonym ‘Hampana’. He hails from Hampsandra in the Gauribidanur taluk.
He began his career as a lecturer at Maharani's College in Mysuru and later worked at government colleges in Mandya, Davanagere, and Shivamogga. After serving at Central College, he retired as a Kannada professor and director of the Kannada Study Centre at Bengaluru University.
Nagarajaiah has made significant contributions to Kannada literature and has received several accolades, including the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award, Chavundaraya Award, Kavya Anand Award, Tammanar Rao Ammana Bhavi Memorial Award, Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, Shamba Joshi Award, and Acharya Sumathi Sagara Shruta Samvardhana Award.
