Kasargod: SIT formed to investigate crores worth of narcotics found in Uppala home

Kasargod, Sep 21: Superintendent of Police D Shilpa has announced that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the case involving narcotics worth crores of rupees discovered at a house in Patwadi, Uppala.

Shilpa stated, “Asgar Ali has been arrested in connection with this case. The raid was conducted based on reliable intelligence. Asgar Ali acted as a mediator, and there is a vast network involved. An inquiry is currently underway, and Asgar Ali’s assets will be confiscated. Thanks to the efficiency of the police, this extensive narcotics network has been unearthed.”

The raid resulted in the seizure of 3.4 kg of MDMA, 640 grams of ganja, 96.96 grams of cocaine, and 30 capsules.

The accused will be presented in court and will remain in custody for further investigation. “We have information about other suspects, and the investigation is ongoing,” she added.

The raid was carried out by a team that included Melparamba Police Inspector A Santhosh Kumar, Manjeshwar Police Station SI Nikil, special branch senior officer Pradeesh Gopalan, and other officers from various police units.
