Bengaluru, Sep 22: A heated argument between two friends over a girl escalated into a fatal incident, resulting in the death of one of them on Saturday morning under the limits of Sanjaynagar police station.
Varun Kotian (24), originally from Udupi, was the victim. His friend, Divesh (25), has been arrested for allegedly committing the murder.
According to reports, Varun, Divesh, and the girl involved were school friends and had been living together in a rented house in Geddalahalli, Bengaluru, for the past year. The girl worked as a receptionist (a person who handles visitors and telephone calls in an office or business), Divesh was employed with Zomato (a food delivery service), and Varun worked as a safety officer (someone responsible for ensuring safety protocols are followed in a workplace) at a company in Bagalur.
Divesh and the girl were in a relationship, but it appears that the girl was also maintaining contact with Varun through messaging. The two friends frequently argued over their connections with her. On Saturday morning, Divesh allegedly killed Varun by hitting him on the head with a hollow block (a large, lightweight building brick).
Sanjaynagar police are continuing their investigation into the case.
