36-year-old dies of amoebic brain fever in Kasargod

Kasargod, Sep 23: A 36-year-old man, Manikanta, a resident of Chattanchal Ukarmapadi, has died from amoebic brain fever. He had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kannur.

Manikanta, who had been working in Mumbai, returned to his hometown due to illness. After being initially admitted to Kasargod general hospital, he was later transferred to a private hospital in Kannur when his condition worsened.

Tests confirmed that he had an amoebic infection, likely contracted in Mumbai.

Medical officers have reassured Kasargod residents that there is no cause for panic but advised taking precautions against amoebic brain fever.
