Shirur landslide: Kerala lorry driver Arjun's body found

Shirur (Uttara Kannada), Sep 24: The body of Arjun, a lorry driver from Kozhikode, Kerala, who had gone missing during the tragic landslide two months ago, was recovered on Wednesday.

The decomposed body was found trapped inside a Bharat Benz lorry that was crushed under soil and rocks in the depths of the Gangavali River. The district superintendent of police, M Narayana, confirmed that the body is indeed Arjun's.

On July 16, Arjun had gone missing along with his lorry, which was transporting timber, during the landslide. The Kerala government had been pressuring authorities to locate him.

Two more individuals, Jagannath Naik from Shirur and Lokesh Naik from Gangekolla, are still missing from the accident. So far, nine people have lost their lives in the disaster.
