Mangaluru, Sep 25: Former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde has expressed his opinion that chief minister Siddaramaiah should resign in light of the allegations of his involvement in the MUDA (Mangalore Urban Development Authority) scam.

Speaking to reporters during Mangalore University’s Foundation Day celebration, he said that while the chief minister has the option to fight the case legally, from the public’s perspective, it would be appropriate for him to resign.

Siddaramaiah has claimed that he did nothing wrong, but the High Court has now stated that there is evidence related to the allegations. The case's outcome will depend on the investigation conducted by the concerned agency. However, considering the seriousness of the current accusations, a suitable decision should be made, he added.
