Mangaluru: Ronald Gomes elected president of CASK at 111th AGM

Mangaluru, Sep 25: Ronald Gomes was unanimously elected president of the Catholic Association of South Kanara (CASK) during its 111th Annual General Body Meeting held today at Bendur Church Hall, Mangaluru. Gomes is the founder and managing director of M/s Sunray Products Pvt. Ltd., Mangaluru, a renowned solar on-grid power projects company operating for over 27 years across South India.

The company also handles O&M projects, including those for Cochin International Airport and the world’s largest floating solar power project at Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh. Gomes has previously served as the president of Rachana – Catholic Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mangaluru, and as past Lions district governor of District 317D, covering Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Kodagu, and Chikkamagaluru.

Marjorie Texeira and Dr Rohan Monis were elected as vice presidents. Peter Pinto is the new secretary, with Titus Noronha as joint secretary and Ronald Mendonca as treasurer.

The governing council members are Ian Lobo, Irwin Lobo, Darryl Lasrado, Jude Rego, Dr Anil Gomes, Marcel Monteiro, Keith D’Souza, and Sapna Noronha.

Earlier, the 111th AGM of CASK was held, presided over by president Capt Vincent Pais. Secretary Dr Anand Pereira presented the minutes of the previous AGM, and treasurer Norbert Shenoy presented the financial reports.

Election officer Walter D’Souza conducted the election for the new office bearers. After assuming office, the new president Ronald Gomes shared his vision for the betterment of CASK and the community. Secretary Peter Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.
