Kundapur, Sep 26: A leopard preyed on a dog that was sleeping in the yard of a house in Nailadi, near Shiriyara, within the limits of the Kota panchayat.
The domestic dog belonged to Sadashiva Kulal, a resident of Nailadi.
The leopard attacked the dog in a matter of seconds. For a long time, leopards in the area have preyed on cattle and domestic dogs.
The leopard’s presence has instilled fear among the residents, preventing people from going out at night. The forest department has yet to take action regarding this issue.
