Kundapur, Sep 26: In response to a call from the Central Association of Karnataka State Village Administration Officials, the Kundapur unit held a protest in front of the taluk office on Thursday, demanding the fulfillment of various demands. These include salary scales equivalent to technical positions, as they claim to perform 10 times more work than C-class state government employees, such as managing RTC, Aadhar Seed, Crop Harvesting mobile app, Bhoomi, Dishank, and 21 other web and mobile data tasks. Additionally, they demanded essential infrastructure, proper facilities for services, the withdrawal of suspensions related to data work, and no memos for work done during government holidays.

Speaking at the event, the president of the Udupi unit stated, “On one hand, there is a shortage of officials, and on the other, a lack of basic facilities. This, combined with having to work even on holidays, has taken a toll on village administration officials. The state government must address these demands immediately.”

Social worker Ashok Poojary Kodi added, “Village administration officials work closely with the public in the revenue department. Assigning one VA to manage five villages is overwhelming. This burden needs to be reduced, and their demands should be met.”

District president of Retired Employees Association Prakash Chandra Shetty, Taluk Village Administration Officer Association President Shivaraya, chief secretary Vignesh Upadhya, vice president Anandakumar O, treasurer Somappa Hebbala, State council member Anand Mukkanna, women's secretary Hema, and village administration officers from all villages in Kundapur taluk attended the protest.

Raghavendra, president of the Government Revenue Employees Association, provided external support. The protest will continue until the evening.
