Mumbai (RBI), Sept 26: "Our duty is to bring art and culture to the forefront of society and demonstrate our commitment to them. The journey of art and culture reflects the richness of a region. The preservation and nurturing of our local art and artists is a small step in the mission of the Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat. Our organization has become well-known across Maharashtra and has been sincerely and diligently working towards fulfilling it mission as a mother organization for all types of art institutions. The establishment of a relief fund for artists, the annual Kala Shree award, and the successful acquisition of our own office mark our achievements," stated Dr Surendra Kumar Hegde, president of the Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat Maharashtra.
The 16th Annual General Meeting of the Parishat was held on Thursday evening in the small hall of Billava Bhavan in Santa Cruz East, where Dr. Hegde inaugurated the event with a lighting of the lamp. He spoke about future plans, fundraising for the relief fund, and organizing regional programs to support underprivileged artists. "I hope for everyone's cooperation in all artistic activities and projects that the Parishat undertakes for the benefit of art and artists. The inauguration of our own office will happen soon," he assured.
The meeting was attended by vice president Kamalaksh G Saraf, honorary general secretary Chandrashekhar Bhat, honorary general treasurer PB Chandrahass, secretary Chandravathi Devadiga, treasurer Naveen Shetty, women's wing president Tara R Bangera, and others on stage.
Chandrashekhar Bhat presented the annual report, while PB Chandrahas presented the financial statements for the past year. The assembly unanimously appointed Jagadish D Rai as the internal auditor and Rao & Ashok Chartered Accountants as the external auditors.
Committee members, special invitees, internal auditor Jagadish Rai, advisors, and numerous members, including women's wing coordinator Kusuma Poojary, were present. Members KK Shetty, GT Acharya, Sudha Shetty, Mohan Marnad, Ashok Pakkala, and Dayasagar Chout expressed their suggestions for the organization's growth.
Tara R Bangera and Sushila Devadiga led the prayer. The president honored the members who contributed to the relief fund with a memento. A tribute was paid to the recently deceased members of the Parishat, including Sadananda Suvarna, Shimunje Parari, and Justice Subhash Shetty, with a moment of silence. Adyapadi Balakrishna Shetty conducted the proceedings, and Naveen Shetty offered the vote of thanks.
