Mangaluru: St Agnes College conducts session on public speaking skills

Mangaluru, Sep 27: The department of commerce in association with SACCSA organised a session on public speaking skills at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru on September 26.

Manoj Fernandes, the speaker, shared valuable insights on public speaking, covering essential aspects such as the importance of managing speaking time effectively during presentations, how non-verbal cues like posture, gestures, and eye contact can impact the audience's perception, tips on how to dress, behave, and carry oneself confidently when speaking in public, methods to foster audience interaction, including question-handling and maintaining two-way communication.

The session was engaging and well-received by the audience, who participated actively during the interaction segments.

The session commenced with a prayer song led by Alice and team, setting a reflective and focused tone for the event. Sheryl Sequeira delivered the welcome speech, introducing the purpose of the session and welcoming the esteemed speaker, Manoj Fernandes.

Preemal Monis, efficiently coordinated the event, who was the compere ensuring smooth transitions between segments. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Slavia, expressing gratitude to the speaker, organizers, and participants for making the session a success.
