Mangaluru: Second edition of Gadyanth Gammath by Catholic City Friends held with grandeur

Mangaluru, Sep 30: The second edition of Gadyanth Gammath, organized by Catholic City Friends, was a grand celebration held on Sunday, September 29, at Vamanjoor Kelaraikodi. This unique festive day featured fun and games in the muddy paddy fields, bringing the community together in a joyful spirit.

The event was graced by chief guests Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld media; Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank Ltd, Daijiworld marketing head Praveen Tauro and advocate, YCS secretary general Roshan Lobo. 

Guests of honour included Fr Ivan Ashwin D'Souza, assistant parish priest of Vamanjoor; Roshan D'Souza Belman, founder of Humanity Trust; Stany Bela, production director at Daijiworld; Elton Mascarenhas, cine director; Loy Valentine Saldanha, music director; and Wencita Dias, founder of Wenz Modelling Academy.

Herwin Pinto, president of CCF, and Vinitha Rego, secretary, were present on the dais, while Roshan Rocco and Vishal Fernandes served as event convenors.

In a heart-warming gesture, a cheque of Rs 1 lac was handed over to a deserving family to aid in constructing a new home, exemplifying the community's spirit of generosity and support.

The guests praised the unity and social commitment of Catholic City Friends (CCF) under the leadership of Herwin Pinto. They commended events like Gadyanth Gammath for their core message of connecting with nature, emphasizing how such initiatives foster community spirit and environmental awareness. The celebration not only brought joy but also reinforced the importance of caring for our surroundings.

Hundreds of youths from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasargod attended the event, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of Gadyanth Gammath. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the widespread appeal of the festivities and the strong sense of community in the region.
