Mangaluru: Man dies after falling into well while cleaning its wall

Mangaluru, Sep 29: A man tragically lost his life after slipping and falling into a well while cleaning its surrounding wall in Kotekaru Nellithila, near Kalikamba Temple, under the Ullal police station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Naveen Belchada (48), a resident of a rented house in Kotekaru Nellithila. The incident occurred around 3:45 pm on Sunday, when Naveen was cleaning the well's surrounding wall at the back of the house. It is reported that he accidentally slipped and fell into the well, resulting in his death.

When Naveen was not seen inside the house, his wife and children began searching for him. They discovered the incident near the well. Local residents helped to retrieve Naveen from the well, but by then, he had already passed away.

Naveen, who worked as a centering contractor, is survived by a daughter studying in second-year PUC and a son in the fourth grade.

The Ullal police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and have registered a case.
