Udupi, Oct 1: On the occasion of World Heart Day, Adarsha Hospital in Udupi organized a free cardiac screening camp on October 1. The event was inaugurated by the hospital’s director, Dr GS Chandrashekhar.
Prasad Raj Kanchan, Congress leader and chief guest of the event, lit the ceremonial lamp and addressed the gathering.
The camp was led by renowned cardiologists Dr Srikanta Krishna and Dr Vishukumar B, providing free tests such as blood sugar, cholesterol, and ECG for all participants. For those in need, heart scans and TMT tests were also conducted at no cost. Patients requiring further treatment were offered angiograms and angioplasties at discounted rates.
During the event, Dr Srikanta Krishna provided an insightful session on ‘Myths Surrounding Heart Attacks and Their Treatment'. Dr Vishukumar B conducted a workshop on ‘Causes of Chest Pain and Diagnostic Methods'.
A quiz competition was also held as part of the programme, with certificates awarded to the winners. The event was hosted by Anushri Acharya, while Reema Menezes delivered the vote of thanks.
Adarsha Hospital CEO Vimala Chandrashekhar was also present at the event.
