Udupi, Oct 13: Prasanna Shetty (45), a native of Kondadi in Hiriyadka, Udupi taluk, died by suicide at a lodge in Theerthahalli on Friday.

Prasanna, an entrepreneur based in Bengaluru, had checked into the lodge three days earlier. When the hotel staff received no response from his room, they broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling fan with a saree.

It was revealed that Prasanna had brought his wife’s saree from Bengaluru, indicating that the act was premeditated. He left behind a six-page suicide note detailing the reasons for his decision, including certain names and business-related matters, according to police sources. Prasanna was involved in running a hotel, bakery, and finance businesses in Bengaluru.

His last rites were conducted at his ancestral home in Kondadi. Prasanna is survived by his wife, a two-year-old daughter, his parents, and a brother.

Shocking. When in business or private, something goes wrong,it is not fair immediately think of suicide .As a adult think of your family first what they would do when are gone ,that only a two year old baby? They are helpless. So collect your senses and just do what you have to do.Help your family first ,can give off rest.Give them a halt .dont think of you self.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.Poor girl have to grow up without her father ,no father to protect her and mother?Very scary.May his soul rest in peace.

@ Sense_shetty, Kudla "create something that brings genuine joy to your soul through the service you provide" 100% true! What an inspiring words ! Money in life is essential but money that comes abundantly must render service to others who are less privileged. Few years lie span. we have come empty hands and shall depart with empty hands.🙏

Very sad. A young man, enterprenuer and a family person committed suicide. His case I don't know in particular but many in such similar cases, for the sake of high status in the society, stretch too far, beyond their means and abilities and support systems! When they fail to achieve their desired goal, it becomes unbearable and irrecoverable to them. In the end, the person himself and the family and the society at large is at loss. Sad end!

Sad to hear such news. It happens , it part of life, people go through this they fall if they restart they will surely stand again, sell whatever you have and stand, suicide is not a option at all, you cant run putting your family especially the 2 innocent kids in such situation.

Given the choice between living for others and living for myself, I’d choose the latter. Actions taken purely for prestige or social status can backfire when not carefully thought through or strategically planned. In reality, 90% of people live for societal expectations without much introspection. The best path to success in business is to create something that brings genuine joy to your soul through the service you provide. Money should be a byproduct of that service, not the sole measure of success. Om Shanthi to the departed soul.
