Bhatkal, Oct 13: A 19-year-old tourist from Bengaluru, Puneet K, was rescued from drowning by KND staff Yogesh and Laxmana Harikantha while visiting Murudeshwara.

The duo utilised a boat owned by Yogesh’s father for the rescue. This rescue comes after a tragic incident where a Bengaluru student drowned while swimming in the area, prompting authorities to prohibit tourists from entering the sea.

Access has been allowed to the beach on the right side of the temple, where fishing is permitted, but essential safety equipment, including speed boats and life jackets, has not been provided.
