Vijayendra accused the Congress government of enacting laws targeting the worship of Lord Ganesha and labeling organisations like the RSS and Bajrang Dal as anti-national. “Is this the delusion they live in?” he asked, underscoring the growing disconnect between the government’s actions and public sentiment.
He asserted that every action taken by the Congress government has met with public backlash, while the BJP remains committed to exposing these failures. In a surprising twist, he referred to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as an "honest Chief Minister," stating, “While opposition leaders call him corrupt, I genuinely believe Siddaramaiah is honest.”
He humorously added that such remarks should not be seen as madness but as a tactical response to the Congress’s Rs 87-crore Valmiki Corporation scam.
Vijayendra also criticised the Congress for allegedly ruling against the very community it claims to support, describing their governance as corrupt and lacking in development.
Kishore Kumar, the party's candidate, received strong endorsements from senior party members, including Nalin Kumar Kateel, who praised him as a capable choice. “The coastal region must remain a bastion for the BJP,” Vijayendra emphasised, noting that ministers have been avoiding Dakshina Kannada out of fear of losing votes.
Former Assembly Opposition Leader R. Ashok echoed this sentiment, asserting that the BJP’s coastal stronghold must remain intact amid the Congress government's alleged corruption.
Udupi MP Kota Srinivasa Poojary criticised the Congress for undermining the Panchayat Raj system, reminding attendees of the respect shown to Grama Panchayat members by the previous Yediyurappa administration.
Party co-incharge Sudhakar Reddy emphasised the moral bankruptcy of the Congress party in seeking votes amidst widespread corruption and public discontent.
Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta urged voters to support Kishore Kumar, stating he embodies the voice of Hindutva and grassroots representatives.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy claimed that the Congress government is merely surviving on the backs of the poor and is on the brink of collapse.
Former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda expressed pride in Kishore's candidacy, noting his strong roots in the Janata Party.
Nalin Kumar Kateel confidently declared victory for Kishore Kumar, predicting a winning margin of over 2,000 votes in this election.
Kishore Kumar, rallying support, promised the audience, “Bless me in this election, and I will address all issues within three months.”
The event also saw Jayananda Bantryal, a member of the Neliyadi Grama Panchayat, and his spouse joining the BJP, welcomed by district president Satish Kumpal. The programme was orchestrated by Devidas Shetty and Rakesh Rai Kadenji, with election in-charge K Ganesh Karnik delivering the vote of thanks.
