Bengaluru, Oct 19: A poor woman who paid her son’s BEd 4th semester examination fees from out of the savings from the Rs 2,000 monthly payment amount under the Grihalakshmi scheme has received warm appreciation from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The chief minister has responded to a post in the X social media platform by Appu@Marxpital, which mentioned the plight of the family caught in debt trap at making the payment from the savings of Grihalakshmi Guarantee Scheme.
The post tagging Siddaramaiah and Women and Child Welfare Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, says no words of gratitude were enough to express the thanks to the Chief Minister.
Siddarmaiah, has replied in X:“Since my childhood I have seen children deprived of education due to poverty, even today we find many such examples among us. This moment reminds me of the struggle that I myself waged for my desired law education. Had my education been curtailed for some reason and engaged in agriculture, I would not have had the fortune to serve millions of Kannadigas today as Chief Minister.
“I was happy to see this young man's desire to learn even in poverty. Grihakshmi Yojana is really meant to reach and is reaching such people. Thank you for the love and care of that mother who used the Grilahakshmi money that came to her and gave it for her son's education even in times of poverty.“
"After completing BEd education, become a teacher and shape the lives of hundreds of children. I will be happier then, than your thanks,“ he said.
