11th United Pangalites drawing competition concludes with resounding success

Dubai, Oct 21: The 11th United Pangalites drawing competition was held on October 13, at Sports Bay in Al Karama, attracting more than 120 young artists eager to showcase their talents. The competition featured four categories: one for children under 7 years with the theme ‘Outlined drawings', another for ages 8 to 11 centered on ‘My dream city', a category for ages 12 to 15 focusing on ‘Space exploration: life beyond earth', and a special category for differently-abled participants, who were given the freedom to choose their own topics.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Joseph Mathias, managing director at Merit Freight Systems LLC, Nelson Rodricks, Dayan D’Souza, founder of Daiji Dubai and Ronald Fernandes. Their presence added to the significance of the occasion, highlighting the community's support for the arts and young talent.

The day began with a warm welcome from UPA president, Sweeny D’Souza, creating an uplifting atmosphere for the day. Emcee Anica D’Souza skillfully led the proceedings, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for everyone involved. A panel of distinguished judges Madhusudan, Jishamol Faizal, and Amrita Goplani applauded the participants for their creativity, originality, and artistic talent. The high level of skill on display made the task of selecting winners a formidable challenge.

Winners received certificates and trophies from the judges and sponsors in recognition of their artistic excellence, with the prize distribution carried out by UPA core committee member and advisor Joel Quadras, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere. Additionally, all participants were awarded certificates of participation and provided meals, contributing to the overall joy of the occasion.

The event was made possible by generous sponsors: Austin Barboza from HART Office and Stationery supplies, Karama, who provided trophies for the winners, and Ravi Rodrigues from Rushour Grill & Restaurant, Oud Metha, who kindly sponsored meals for all attendees.

The United Pangalites extended their heartfelt gratitude to the participants, judges, and sponsors for their invaluable contributions, which ensured the success of the 11th drawing competition. The event reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to nurturing creativity and promoting inclusivity within the community.
