Karkala: Instagram affair led to husband’s murder - Shocking details emerge in Ajekar case

Daijiworld Media Network – Karkala

Karkala, Oct 26: New revelations have emerged in the high-profile murder case of Balakrishna (44), from Marne village in Ajekar, Karkala taluk, with the involvement of his wife Prathima and her lover, Dilip Hegde. The two allegedly conspired to kill Balakrishna, suffocating him with a bedsheet in the early hours of October 20.

Balakrishna, who had recently returned to Ajekar after undergoing medical treatment in Karkala, Manipal, Mangaluru, and Bengaluru for a prolonged illness, was brought home on October 19 after his recovery. Around 3:30 am, his father, Sanjeeva, heard a noise and found Balakrishna unresponsive. By morning, a doctor from the local government hospital confirmed Balakrishna's death, prompting the family to suspect foul play and file a police complaint.

Prathima, who ran a beauty parlour in Ajekar and was active on Instagram, often created reels with her husband. During this time, she connected with Dilip Hegde from Karkala on Instagram. Their friendship soon escalated into an affair, and fearing that Balakrishna might become an obstacle, the pair reportedly plotted his murder.

Following their plan, Dilip allegedly supplied poison to Prathima, instructing her to gradually administer it to Balakrishna, which led to his worsening health. Ultimately, on October 20, Prathima invited Dilip to her home, where the two reportedly suffocated Balakrishna with a bedsheet, ending his life.

Both Prathima and Dilip are now in police custody as investigations continue.

'Kalli Sikki Biddalu' Most of the time people always think just like cat story of drinking milk by closing its eyes. Truth has several heads to come out and prove. Unfortunately lie has one head if that is cut down it will die. That is what happened to these KALLURU Prathima & Dilip. This reminds me the murder of Hotilier Mr Shetty some years back by his wife, son and a third man Bhatta.

Much against my wishes; the accused would attract maximum punishment for this well planned muder of an innocent person!

“Whether it's an Instagram affair, a Facebook affair, or any other affair, if a woman has a relationship with someone after being married, it is illegitimate. And if she, along with her new lover, has murdered her husband, she must face the punishment and will carry the label of her husband's murderer for life.”

RIP 😔! Very shocking that having consulted so many reputed hospitals in the state; no expert (toxicologist) could get a clue that the victim was being slow poisoned (as the news report suggests)? Please note that this is a very personal & generic opinion based on my knowledge, and perception based on the above news report !

UNLess. Doctors pursue the possibility of poisoning .. arsenic etc . And start being suspicious. .. it is very difficult to follow the test reports and suspect Poisoning .. also not abrupt case of severe collapse in this now deceased husband as we know it has been months .. so very slow poisoning and the end by strangulations.. Overall a diabolical and cruel end by the perpetrators .. They need. Harshest punishment..

very sad that the doctors failed to identify the traces of poison in his body which was the true cause of his sickness even after such a prolonged treatment. if doctors had raised an alarm in a timely manner, the person could have survived and the culprits would have arrested before his discharge from the hospital. don't know how many have lost their lives in similar manner.

Monty, marital relationships are more complex than we think.....there are characters looking for marital disputes between husband and wives and try to take advantage of the situation....most of the time these vultures mislead and misguide married women and take advantage of the situation....in this modern time when fear of God is rare ,,,these things thrive....very few cases come to light...rest will be pushed under the carpet....my advise to husbands....be careful...don't take wives for granted and be active before its too late....I am saddened by these developments....Tak...Takk...
