Mangaluru, Nov 6: Kavoor Police have apprehended two individuals involved in a recent cattle theft case registered under IPC Section 379 and the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Ordinance 2020. The arrests were made as part of an investigation into a series of cattle theft incidents in the region.
The arrested suspects are identified as Faizal alias Faizal Konchar (40), son of Abdul Razak from Badriyanagar, Koncharu Kolambe, Pejavara, Mangaluru, and Suhaib Akhtar (24), son of Abdul Rehman from Kodi Ullal, Mangaluru. Police have seized a Ridge car and a Fascino scooter allegedly used in the theft. Both suspects were produced before the court following their arrest.
During the investigation, authorities found that Faizal has a history of involvement in cattle theft cases, with a total of 12 cases registered against him. This includes seven cases at Bajpe police station, one at Shankaranarayana Police Station in Udupi, and two at Sirsi Market Police Station. Faizal is also reportedly connected to two previous cattle theft cases registered at Sagar Town Police Station in Shivamogga district.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal IPS, with oversight from DCPs Siddharth Goyal IPS (Law & Order) and Dinesh Kumar (Crime & Traffic). The team was led by ACP Shrikant K of the Mangaluru North Subdivision. Key personnel involved in the arrests included Kavoor Police Station Inspector Raghavendra Baindur, sub-inspector Mallikarjun Biradar, and officers Bhuvaneshwari, Riyaz, Chandranayak, Nagaraj Bhairagonda, and Rajappa Kashibai.
