Mangaluru: Missing person found dead in pond near home

Mangaluru, Nov 7: Ravi (34), a resident of Maradka in Mennabettu village and associated with the Kinnigoli Town Panchayat, who had been missing for the past few days, was found dead in a pond near his house on Thursday, November 7 evening.

Police suspect that Ravi had been dead for a few days before his body was discovered. Ravi, who worked as a daily wage laborer, left home on November 2 at around 10 am, telling his family that he was going to the market but did not return. Following his disappearance, a missing person report was filed at the Mulki police station.

Attempts to contact Ravi’s mobile phone indicated that it was switched off. On November 6, Ravi’s family informed the homeowner, after which a search was conducted in the vicinity and inquiries were made with relatives. However, Ravi had neither returned home nor visited any relatives’ houses. His wife, Shwetha, subsequently lodged a complaint at the Mulki police station regarding his disappearance.
