Kundapur: Gang in luxury car steals street cows

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (MS)

Kundapur, Nov 8: In a startling incident, three masked men in a luxury car reportedly stole cows resting on the street in front of Thalmakki Complex, under the jurisdiction of Hombadi Mundadi gram panchayat, late at night.

Cows often rest near the closed shops in Hunnemakki Melpete and Kelapete. On the night of the incident, the masked men approached the cows under the guise of feeding them, forcibly loaded them into the car in an inhumane manner, and quickly fled the scene. The act was recorded on CCTV.

Local residents commonly allow their cows to graze freely, which leads the cattle to wander into the town in search of food. Consequently, incidents of missing cows have been on the rise in recent times.

Reports indicate that the masked individuals carry lethal weapons, causing fear among villagers who are now hesitant to venture out at night. Santhosh, a member of Hombadi Mundadi gram panchayat, has urged the police to install CCTV cameras at key junctions and take effective measures to prevent such thefts.
