Mangaluru, Nov 11: In connection with an attempted murder case reported on November 8 near the K C Road-Uchila stretch on National Highway 66 in Talapady village, the Ullal police have arrested four individuals. The incident occurred around 7:40 pm when Mohammad Asif (33), son of Ismail and resident of Fatima Manzil, near Kadambar School, Badaje, Kasargod district, Kerala, was attacked while traveling home with his family from Mangaluru to Kerala. The assailants reportedly launched an assault intending to kill him.
A case was registered on November 9 at Ullal police station under sections 109(1), 189(2), 190, 191(2), 191(3), 324(3) of IPC and BNS-2023.
The arrested individuals are Annappa Swamy alias Manu (24), son of Hanumanth, resident of Eshwar Nagar, Idya, Surathkal; Sachin (24), son of Manjunath, resident of Bhagavathi Nilaya, Narla Padil, Talapady village, Ullal taluk; Kushith (18), son of Chandrashekar, resident of Padalkodi, Kambrapadavu, Pajir post, Bantwal taluk and a juvenile has also been taken into custody.
The arrests were made on November 11 morning. The investigation is ongoing under the guidance of police commissioner Anupam Agarwal IPS, deputy police commissioner (law and order) Siddharth Goel, and deputy police commissioner (crime and traffic) Dinesh Kumar. The operation was led by assistant police commissioner of Mangaluru south subdivision, Dhanya N Nayak, with the support of police inspector Balakrishna H N and other staff members of Ullal police station.
