Mumbai, Dec 12: The annual Education Prize distribution programme of Model Co-operative Bank Ltd was organized under the presidentship of Bank working president Albert W D’Souza at Xavier Institute of Engineering College auditorium, Mahim West here on Saturday December 10.
At the annual scholarship distribution ceremony for merit students, Andheri East Holy Family High School’s principal Fr Francis Swamy was the chief guest. He gave away the scholarships and talent awards to students.
Speaking on the occasion Fr Francis said that students should consider the greatest personalities of history as role models and follow in their paths which will help them gain success. Without disciplined life the education gained will also lose its prominence and this should be remembered forever by the students, he advised.
Such scholarship programmes are mainly to encourage the students to keep improving and devout themselves to studies, he added.
Albert D’Souza in his presidential address said that the students of today’s world need keep pace with the modernization and even education needs to be reformed. The financial support plays a vital role here, he opined.
Mangalorean Catholic Education Credit Society Ltd president and Model Bank founder John D’Silva said that education only is the food for future generation. Good education can provide a dignified life in society, he stressed.
Vice working president William Sequeira, Vincent Mathias, Benedicta B Rebello, Prem Aranha among others were present on the dais. Philip Pinto and Frank R Louis welcomed the gathering. Edwrad Rashquina compered and proposed the vote of thanks.
