Mangaluru, Nov 24: Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru observed ‘World Day of the Poor’ on Saturday, November 23 with a meaningful outreach activity. The students of Grade 2 C and 2 D, accompanied by their mentors, visited the shelter home Prashanth Nivas at Jeppu, spreading joy and compassion.
The programme commenced by invoking God’s blessings, followed by a few lively action songs performed by the students, bringing smiles and entertainment to the inmates. The young visitors then shared essential items like soaps, eatables and fruits, which were warmly received with gratitude. Interactions with the inmates created an atmosphere of connection and mutual appreciation.
This initiative served as a valuable lesson in gratitude and compassion, offering the students and their mentors an opportunity to reflect on the importance of helping the less fortunate. The visit was a transformative experience, leaving everyone involved with a deeper understanding of life’s blessings and the value of empathy.
