Bantwal, Dec 16: Vittal police on Wednesday December 14, arrested two inter-state thieves who were involved in the burglary attempt of Karnataka Bank branch of Muruva–Manila, recently.

The arrested have been identified as 25-year-old Abdul Sattar and 35-year-old Abbas, who was presented before the judge in Kasargod court as there were already many burglary cases registered against him.  Vittal police presented Sattar before the judge at Vittal court.  The police continued to look for another accused who escaped.

Abdul Sattar

Sattar, along with his accomplices, was burgling the houses located along the border of Karnataka.  The burglars tried to burgle Karnataka Bank branch of Manila on the night of November 17, 2011, but had to abandon their plan since the locals raised an alarm and chased the getaway car.  The burglars fled from the spot, abandoning their car that was borrowed from Abdul Kunhi of Kasargod for trade-in.  The getaway car helped in nabbing the duo.
