Mangaluru: KMC Hospital to host World Heart Day ‘Cold cooking contest’ on Sep 26

Mangaluru, Sep 16: KMC Hospital is inviting members of the public to participate in a fun and healthy cold cooking competition, ‘Let’s cook up a storm while keeping the flames off’, to mark World Heart Day. The event will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 3:30 PM at Marena Sports Complex, Kaprigudda, Attavar.

The competition will encourage participants to prepare tasty, heart healthy dishes without using fire or heat. Teams of up to three members will get 60 minutes to prepare maximum upto two vegetarian dishes and one drink. Participants will need to bring their own ingredients; processed or half cooked items will not be permitted. Plug points for your device will be provided, kindly bring your own blender / mixer.

The dishes will be judged on taste, presentation and nutritional value, with a focus on promoting healthier food choices for heart health.

Speaking about the initiative, Pramod Kunder, cluster director, Manipal Hospitals, said, “Healthy eating does not have to be complicated or boring. Through this competition, we want to bring people together and show that simple ingredients can be turned into enjoyable, heart healthy food. World Heart Day is a good opportunity to think about the everyday choices that can support heart health, and we invite families, friends and food enthusiasts to join us and make it a fun experience.”

With a mix of creativity, food and friendly competition, KMC Hospital hopes the event will encourage participants to explore simple ways of making heart healthy choices part of their everyday meals.
