Ban on Smoking Scenes Controlling, Unartistic: SRK

Daijiworld Media Network - Entertainment

Mumbai, Dec 16: Reiterating his stand on the ban on smoking scenes in movies, actor Shah Rukh Khan said that the ban was a little too controlling and also unartistic.

Speaking to media persons at a promotional event, SRK said, move to erase, ban or inserting a ticker tape on the screen would be a little unartistic and too controlling. But if it is a legal sale of something, I think just the warning is sufficient. We should have a public service message as we do for event stunts, that don't try this stunt at home. Similarly you should not smoke or consume alcohol."

At the promotional event of his movie 'Don 2', King Khan also added that it was every film maker's responsibility to look after the pre-movie public advisory. But, according to him, to disrupt the movie and to show the anti-tobacco messages was artistically 'incorrect'.
