Udupi, Nov 30: Kediyoor’s Lords International School celebrated scientific creativity and innovation through its science exhibition, Tech-Titans 2024. The event showcased the ingenuity of its students through various science models and projects that captivated visitors.

The exhibition witnessed the presence of chief guest Dr Arun Vernekar, paediatrician, guests of honour Lt Cdr Sanath Kelath, treasurer Dr Bhavyashree B Kidiyoor, trustee Dr Abhin D Shriyan, principal Myrtle LF Lewis, vice-principal Roopa Ashok Shetty, judges Jyothi and Anasuya, parents and students.

The exhibition was inaugurated by renowned paediatrician Dr Arun Vernekar, who set the tone with an inspiring speech. Boston, the humanoid, came through LIRS rocket and inaugurated the science exhibition.

In his address, Dr Vernekar emphasised the essence of science as "extended knowledge" and described it as “magic with logic.” He highlighted the importance of applying school-learned science to daily life, urging students not to disregard their lessons. “The food science we learn in schools is crucial to our health. Despite scoring high marks, we often neglect these lessons in real life. Let’s not just learn but also live science,” he advised.

Principal Myrtle LF Lewis lauded the students for their creativity and the exhibition's success. “Science is not magic; it is the foundation of discovery and innovation. Through exhibitions like these, students learn to transform ideas into reality, think creatively, and solve real-life challenges,” she said. She also commended the collaborative efforts of teachers, STEM lab staff, and parents in guiding students to produce remarkable projects.

On this occasion, the principal announced the launch of ‘Future Founder Club’, a special initiative aimed at nurturing the creative minds and scientific temper of our young learners. The club was inaugurated by Lt Cdr Sanath Kelath. This club is an initiative to plant the seeds of innovation, leadership and collaboration in every student.

Vice-Principal Roopa Ashok Shetty extended a warm welcome to the gathering.

The exhibition was open from 9 am to 12 pm and the parents were also provided an opportunity to view it. During the exhibition, students presented a diverse range of still and working models. They enthusiastically explained how their models worked, demonstrating their understanding of scientific concepts. The judges were highly impressed by the way the students expressed ideas through their exhibits. The parents were fascinated by the way their wards were prepared to exhibit their models.

The exhibition not only provided an opportunity to children to execute their scientific ideas but also gave them the platform to demonstrate their ideas to a large group of spectators. This unique experience enhanced their confidence, communication and inter personal skills. On the whole, the Science exhibition was a great learning experience for both the students and teachers alike wherein it seemed that the world of science practically came alive, through the blooming projects of our young student innovators.
