Udupi, Dec 2: In a pioneering collaboration, the Manipal College of Nursing joined hands with Deakin School to host a dynamic workshop aimed at bridging wellness, cultural heritage, and modern leadership principles. The workshop offered a unique blend of traditional practices, cultural insights, and contemporary techniques to promote holistic growth in healthcare professionals.
The event delved into the synergy between ancient wisdom and modern practices through sessions on happiness yoga, tulunadu customs, outdoor learning, and the emotional freedom technique (EFT).
Cultivating inner peace through Yoga Swati Chaturvedi, founder of One world yoga and a faculty member of the Art of Living Foundation, conducted guided yoga practices. Her session highlighted the profound impact of Happiness Yoga in fostering inner peace, resilience, and joy, crucial for healthcare workers managing stressful environments.
Exploring the cultural legacy of Tulunadu Dr Praveen Shetty, faculty member of humanities and coordinator of culture studies at Manipal, offered participants a captivating journey into the rich legacy of Tulunadu. His session illuminated the region’s distinctive customs, language, artistic expressions, and ceremonies that unite its people, providing a deeper understanding of how culture strengthens community bonds.
Building resilience through outdoor learning Ganesh Nayak, coordinator for outdoor studies, took participants on an imaginative exploration of resilience through outdoor learning. His session emphasized the importance of adventurous journeys in developing leadership skills, adaptability, and mental fortitude, essential traits for healthcare professionals.
Harnessing emotional freedom techniques for healing Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, coordinator of the Deakin study tour program, introduced the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). She demonstrated its efficacy as a tool for emotional healing and resilience, emphasizing its potential to empower healthcare workers to cope with challenges and maintain emotional balance.
The workshop underscored the value of integrating contemporary leadership approaches with cultural heritage and traditional knowledge to create a more resilient and compassionate healthcare workforce.
