New Delhi, Dec 17 (IANS): Acclaimed actor Irrfan Khan will turn host at an award function for the first time Sunday. He will team up with Shreyas Talpade to co-host the BIG Star Entertainment Awards, to be held in Mumbai.

Known for his spontaneous and natural flair for acting, Irrfan's profound dialogue delivery is expected to add a different dimension to the event, especially with the comical Shreyas as the co-host.

"This is my first, but I believe in doing different things to keep my craft alive. I will be hosting sections of the evening with Shreyas who is an excellent actor and has great comic timings. In fact I feel reassured that in case of any problem, he'll take care of me," Irrfan said in a press statement.

The BIG Star Entertainment Awards, conceptualised by Reliance Broadcast Network's intellectual property division, BIG Live, will be the first award function of the season to honour talent in films, television, music, dance and sports.

The glitzy evening will see performances by Priyanka Chopra, Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez. It will be aired for viewers on Star Plus on New Year's Eve.
