Mangaluru: Woman injured in Suratkal cylinder blast succumbs; another critical

Mangaluru, Dec 27: Pushpa (72), who was seriously injured in a cooking gas cylinder blast at her house in Venkataramana Colony, Tadambail, Suratkal, on December 18, succumbed to her injuries on December 26.

Pushpa had been in the ICU for the past nine days. Vasanti, the wife of the house owner Vamana and Pushpa's sister-in-law, is also in critical condition and undergoing treatment in the ICU.

The incident occurred when the women, unaware of a gas leak, lit the stove. This led to a cylinder explosion, engulfing the house in flames and causing severe burn injuries to both women.

Locals shifted them to the hospital for treatment.
