Chennai, Nov 5: The makers of director Anil Ravipudi's upcoming family entertainer, 'January 12 Vidudala', starring Venkatesh and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in the lead roles, announced on Thursday that the film's next shooting schedule has commenced in Kazakhstan.
Production house Shine Screens made the announcement on its social media platforms, revealing that the team would shoot a high-voltage action sequence featuring both lead actors, along with a spectacular song.
"The action is getting bigger in Kazakhstan. The shoot of #January12Vidudala is in full swing, with Victory @VenkyMama and @Nandamurikalyan shooting a power-packed action sequence and a spectacular song. Just wait for a FULL-ON ENTERTAINMENT FEAST this Sankranthi, arriving in theatres on JANUARY 12, 2027," the production house posted.
Sources close to the film unit said director Anil Ravipudi had planned a special combination of action and song sequences for the Kazakhstan schedule, bringing together two major attractions featuring the lead stars.
Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram have begun shooting for a grand action sequence under the supervision of renowned stunt choreographer Real Satish. Set against the picturesque landscapes of Kazakhstan, the sequence is being mounted on a lavish scale and is expected to be one of the major highlights of the film.
The schedule will also feature a special song featuring both actors. Choreographed by Sekhar Master, the number will be filmed at some scenic locations in Kazakhstan.
Before heading to Kazakhstan, the film unit completed a shooting schedule in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. Earlier, the team had filmed in Mysuru, where all four lead actors — Venkatesh, Kalyan Ram, Keerthy Suresh and Krithi Shetty — were spotted at the shooting location. The unit had also filmed a song during the Mysuru schedule.
Actor Sriman, who is also part of the film, had expressed his happiness over getting an opportunity to perform in a song choreographed by Brinda Master after eight years.
Sharing his excitement on X, he wrote, "Rocking choreography by the legendary dance master BRINDA. It's been almost eight years since I got a chance to be a part in her choreography. Thank you DIRECTOR Anil ravipudigaru @AnilRavipudi."
The makers recently announced the film's title as 'January 12 Vidudala'. It was earlier referred to by its working titles #VenkyAnil5 and #NKRAR2.
A few days ago, the team unveiled Venkatesh's first-look poster as Lt. Colonel Venkat Reddy, marking the actor's completion of 40 years in the film industry.
The poster features Venkatesh in an Indian Army camouflage uniform, wearing sunglasses and a scarf while standing beside a rugged SUV. His composed appearance and intense styling present him as a disciplined military officer.
According to the character details revealed by the makers, Lt. Colonel Venkat Reddy serves in the Indian Army and specialises in counter-terrorism and hostage negotiation. The Army insignia and crossed-swords emblem in the background further establish the film's military setting.
Produced by Sahu Garapati under the Shine Screens banner, the film is presented by Suresh Productions, Archana and Zee Studios.
Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead opposite Venkatesh, while Krithi Shetty is paired with Kalyan Ram. The technical team includes GV Prakash Kumar as music composer, Sameer Reddy as cinematographer, Tammiraju as editor and AS Prakash as production designer. S Krishna is the executive producer.
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 12, 2027, coinciding with the Sankranthi festival.
