Mangaluru, Dec 27: In today’s digital world, online scams and fraudulent games have become increasingly common, with more and more people falling victim to such traps. Despite extensive media reports, many continue to lose money in these scams.

A recent scam in Dakshina Kannada involved the RPC app, which promised users the opportunity to earn money by watching videos. Initially, several individuals participated and made some money. However, the scheme soon grew into a large network, with organised programmes and promises of lucrative returns. As a result, many people invested crores of rupees into the scam.

On December 24, the RPC app was shut down, and on the same day, Surya (24), a resident of Moodushedde, went missing. His body was found floating in the Maravoor river on Thursday.

According to sources, Surya had invested around Rs 70,000 in the RPC app, and upon learning that the company had shut down, he is believed to have taken his own life, as he had borrowed money for the investment.

Kavoor police are investigating the case further.

This kind of scams will not stop unless people understand money does not grow in the tree and stop patronizing such cunning scams. Any such scheme which gives returns more than bank interest rate is involved a element of risk, as the difference between both increases, risk also increases in multiple times i.e at least 10 times of difference is the chance of losing money invested . So don't put all egg in one basket. If anyone feels that someone else is become rich or made money from such scheme then just think luck is in their favour and luck favours only for fraction of population/sample size and we may not be lucky ones .

The key thing to understand is that money represents value. To earn it, you must unlock your own value and contribute meaningfully to society in your chosen field. There are no shortcuts. The so-called 'posh life' that attracts many youngsters is a challenging pursuit, demanding immense patience, perseverance, hard work, dedication, discipline, and focus.
