Melbourne, Dec 27: Australian batsmen struggled to 6 / 277 against a spirited India on day one of the Boxing Day Test, in front of 71, 000 odd spectators at the MCG.
At the end of the day, both teams will return to the dressing room feeling a bit happy and a bit disappointed. When Zaheer Khan picked up Clarke and Hussey off successive balls, it seemed like India would take the game by the scruff of the neck and bowl the hosts out for a low score.
But Siddle and Haddin have batted in a dogged fashion to deny India the advantage. All Indian bowlers bowled their hearts out, especially Yadav who ended the day with 3 wickets.
India will look to come out refreshed tomorrow morning and hope to take the remaining 4 wickets as early as possible. Either way, it promises to be an enthralling day tomorrow for which you will have to join us at 5:00 AM IST.
