Mumbai, Dec 27: “The influence of English literature on regional writers has led to greater responsibilities. The writers are expected to contribute their literature in authenticity. The articles should be crisp and precise and hold the attention of the readers. Kannada journal ‘Mogaveera’ deserves commendation for publishing such articles,” said Professor Nagarahalli Acharya.
He was speaking after inaugurating the third convention of writers and readers held at Swami Guru Narayan Mandir, Vasai (West), on Sunday December 25 as part of the 70th anniversary celebration of ‘Mogaveera’ monthly.
The convention was organized by the metro-based Mogaveera Vyavastapak Mandali in association with Mumbai University department of Kannada and Guru Raja Manava Jagruti Kendra, Vasai.
Mangalore University Kannada head of department Dr G N Madhyasta delivered the keynote address.
Mogaveera Vyavastapak Mandali president Ajit G Suvarna, vice-presidents P R Salian and Sanjeev K Salian, former editor G K Ramesh, manager Suresh Tingalaya, and honorary chief secretary H Arun Kumar were present on the dais.
Mogaveera editor Ashok Suvarna delivered the introductory address. Dramatist Devdas Salian compered the programme.
Various dance shows were staged by members of Mogaveera Vyavastapak Mandali on the occasion.
