Udupi, Dec 29: Sugandi Naik, a resident of Mullugudde under Shivapura gram panchayat limits, has received a special invitation to participate in the Republic Day Parade scheduled to be held on January 26, 2025, in New Delhi.

Sugandi is a prominent leader of the Shivadurge Sanjeevini Federation of Shivadurga village. An agriculturist by profession, she cultivates arecanut and paddy and has also established an arecanut leaf plate manufacturing unit, setting an example for self-employment.

Under her leadership, the Shivadurge Sanjeevini Federation achieved the remarkable feat of cultivating 30 acres of barren land with the support of the Udupi zilla panchayat and the Sanjeevini project.

Sugandi and her husband have been invited to attend the prestigious event. Expressing her gratitude, Sugandi acknowledged the efforts of the zilla panchayat and the concerned officials in facilitating their visit to Delhi.
