Karwar: Theft in Bhatkal – Family Loses Valuables worth Rs 7 lac

Karwar, Dec 28: A police complaint was lodged in Bhatkal rural police station on Tuesday December 27, about a theft that reportedly occurred in a house located in a village there.

The thieves, who gained entry into a home in first cross of Hanifabad within Hebale gram panchayat in Bhatkal taluk, succeeded in stealing gold ornaments worth about seven lac rupees.

The house of Isfaq Ruknuddin was burgled by the thieves, who took away gold ornaments worth about seven lac rupees, apart from Rs 6,000 in cash.

The police who have registered a case, have begun investigation. Dog squads were brought to the spot, which led the trail to a petrol bunk, giving rise to the suspicion that the thieves may have stopped there.
