Sullia, Jan 5: A wild elephant attacked a man riding his scooty near 10th Mile of Devarakolli in the early hours of January 4.

Muthiah, a local resident and night watchman at a nearby estate, was returning home after his shift when the elephant suddenly charged at his two-wheeler.

Acting swiftly, Muthiah managed to run to safety, escaping with minor injuries.

The elephant severely damaged his scooty, leaving it mangled. Muthiah was later admitted to the Madikeri government hospital for treatment.
