Byndoor, Jan 6: Under the central government's Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, the modernization and maintenance of existing fishing harbours have received administrative approval from the state government, informed MLA Gururaj Gantihole.

The Gangolli fishing harbour in Kundapur taluk had earlier secured central government approval for infrastructural development works estimated at Rs 22.18 crore. However, administrative approval from the state government was pending.

During the winter session of the state legislature held in Belagavi, Byndoor MLA Gururaj Shetty Gantihole brought the matter to the assembly's attention, urging the state government to provide immediate administrative approval.

Following his efforts, the state government has now granted the necessary administrative approval, stated an official release from the MLA's office.
