Three-year-old girl dies after road accident in Agasaim, father killed on the spot

Panaji, Jan 7: A three-year-old girl tragically passed away on Sunday at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, following a road accident that occurred in Agasaim eight days earlier.
Her father, Rajesh Devidas Naik, aged 39, a resident of Varunapuri, Vasco, succumbed to his injuries on the day of the accident. The girl’s mother remains in a stable condition and is undergoing treatment.

The accident occurred on December 29, around 6:00 pm, when Wilson De Araujo, while driving recklessly from Agasaim towards Pilar, allegedly swerved into the opposite lane. De Araujo’s vehicle collided with two parked motorcycles near a supermarket. In the crash, Naik was killed instantly, while his wife and daughter sustained severe injuries.

The child, who was critically injured, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital on Sunday, deepening the sorrow for the grieving family. Her mother, although injured, is reportedly recovering under medical care.

The incident has shocked the local community, with authorities investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and the alleged reckless driving that led to this heartbreaking tragedy.
