Bantwal, Jan 7: A free eye check-up camp was organized at the Taluk Panchayat Samarthya Soudha on Tuesday through the collaboration of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Mangaluru, Bantwal Taluk Panchayat, Sanjeevini–Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society, JSW Foundation, and India Vision Institute.
Presiding over the event, taluk panchayat executive officer Sachin Kumar emphasized the importance of eye health, urging the public, especially the youth, to be cautious about overuse of mobile phones and TV. He advised regular eye check-ups at least twice a year.
JSW Foundation CSR manager Pradeep K R highlighted the social initiatives and benefits of the camp. About 170 individuals availed of the free services.
Other dignitaries included taluk panchayat assistant director Vishwanath B, Sanjeevini district manager Vineet, NRLM taluk program manager Sudha, and India Vision Institute program coordinator Janet.
NRLM taluk manager Pradeep Kamath hosted the event, while NRLM taluk supervisor Kusuma delivered the vote of thanks.
