Kasargod: Garage Set on Fire, Loss Estimated at Rs 40 Lac

Kasargod, Dec 30: Early on Friday December 30 morning, a garage at Chitarikal here was set ablaze, resulting in a loss of nearly Rs 40 lac.

Five jeeps and some valuable items at the garage were completely charred. Three Mahindra jeeps, a welding machine, and a compressor were also damaged in the fire.

Reports state that some miscreants deliberately set the garage on fire.

A passerby who noticed the fire immediately informed the fire station. By the time the fire squad arrived, almost the entire garage was already in ruins.

The garage belongs to Rajesh and Prakash of Chitharikal.

It is reported that there was some war of words between Rajesh and a local auto driver Thursday December 29. The auto driver had warned that he would set fire to the garage, it is learnt.

A case has been registered by Chithakal police station.
