Udupi, Jan 10: Karnataka Yakshagana Academy's prestigious award ceremony, Parthi Subba award, Honorary award, Yakshasiri annual award and Dattinidhi award for the year 2024 will be held at Yakshagana Kalaranga here on February 16.
Dr Tallooru Shivaram Shetty, president, Karnataka Yakshagana Academy, Bengaluru, addressing the media in the press meet held on January 10, said, “The Karnataka Yakshagana Academy had held its annual meeting on November 18, 2024, at Tulu Bhavan, Kannada and culture department, Mangaluru, to select the recipients for the prestigious Parthisubba award, Honorary awards, Yakshasiri annual awards, and Datthinidhi awards for the year 2024.”








Tenku Thittu Yakshagana artist Mambadi Subrahmanya Bhat has been selected for the prestigious Parthisubba award. The award includes Rs 1 lac cash, a plaque, a certificate, a garland, a shawl, a turban, and a fruit basket. Five eminent, Kolthige Narayana Gowda, Kodi Vishwanatha Ganiga, Raghavadas, Subraya Holla and Kantaraju will be awarded with Honorary award with each recipient getting Rs 50,000 cash, a plaque, a certificate, a garland, a shawl, a turban, and a fruit basket. Ten achievers Adka Gopalakrishna Bhat, Jagannatha Acharya Ellampalli, Mavaru Balakrishna Maniyani, Umesh Kuppepadavu, Shivananda Geejagaaru, Mugwa Ganesh Naik, Surendra Malli and Andal Deviprasad Shetty have been chosen for Yakshasiri annual award. Each recipient will be honoured with Rs 25,000 cash, a plaque, a certificate, a garland, a shawl, a turban, and a fruit basket.
The senior humorist, Karkala Vishweshwara Bhat has been selected for the Datthinidhi award in honour of Karki senior Paramaiah. The award includes Rs 25,000 cash, a plaque, a certificate, a garland, a shawl, a turban, and a fruit basket.
The event will be held in the presence of state ministers, district in-charge ministers, and MLAs. The ceremony will also feature the release of a booklet introducing the award recipients, along with their photographs.
Academy registrar Namrutha N, members Sathish Adapa, Krishna Poojary, Raghav, Dayanand, Gururaj, Mohan, Rajesh, Vidyadar and others were present during the press conference.
