Karwar, Jan 3:  “Sambramotsva”- a celebration of Christmas and New Year was held at the famous Tagore Beach of Karwar on Jan 1 from 5.30 pm to 9 pm. in which a large number people participated.

The president of the celebration was Rt Dr. Derek Fernandes, the Bishop of Karwar. V. Shreeshanand, the District and Sessions judge was the chief guest and Ganapati Ulvekar, the President of Karwar Muncipal Corporation was the guest of honour.





























Speaking at the function both the president and chief guest highlighted the message of Christ and gave the people a call to strive to build an honest and just society.
Various local choir groups and the children of Ashaniketan, a school for speech and hearing impaired children enthralled the audience with Christmas songs, tableau and dances.

The main attraction of the celebration was the “Lord’s Praise and Festival Group” from Mangalore, that gave an hour long programme of music songs, dance and drama. They kept the audience spellbound and succeeded in giving the general public of Karwar the Christmas message of peace and brotherhood.
