Udupi: Mobile tower worth Rs 36.9 lac stolen in Malpe, complaint filed

Udupi, Jan 25: A mobile tower theft has been reported from Kallianpur village in Brahmavar hobli under Malpe police station limits.

The tower, owned by GTL Mobile Company, was reportedly stolen from its installation site in Kallianpur. The complaint was filed by Sandeep, an authorized officer of GTL Infrastructure Private Limited.

The mobile tower, installed on survey number 232/2B2-P2, was discovered missing during a routine inspection conducted by the company's technician on March 31, 2023. Following the discovery, the company launched an internal investigation, which confirmed that unknown individuals had stolen the tower.

The stolen property is valued at Rs 36,92,992. A case has been registered at Malpe police station for further investigation.
