Udupi: Fire Breaks Out in Vijaya Bank Branch

Udupi, Jan 6: An accidental fire occurred at the branch of a nationalized bank in Kaup, near here, on Thursday January 5.
 
The fire was detected in the generator room of Vijaya Bank, Kaup branch, during working hours on Thursday January 5.


Local residents and the bank staff managed to extinguish the fire by pouring water and using fire extinguishers.  The fire brigade arrived at the spot and the fire fighters tried to curb the fire from spreading to the spot where bank records were stocked.
 
The generator and the room were extensively damaged in the fire.
