Daijiworld Media Network - Doha

Doha, Feb 3: Qatari Prime Minister and foreign minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met with Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan on Sunday to strengthen bilateral ties and discuss pressing regional issues, including the ceasefire in Gaza and the situation in Syria.

During their discussions, Al Thani emphasized the need for all parties to adhere to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and commence the second phase of negotiations immediately. He called on the international community to sustain pressure to ensure the success of peace efforts, warning against any obstruction that could derail the process.

Fidan echoed similar sentiments, urging global opposition to the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, terming it a violation of international law. Both leaders also addressed the ongoing crisis in Syria, advocating for the lifting of international sanctions to alleviate the humanitarian situation and support security and stability.

The meeting reinforced the strong Qatari-Turkish partnership in promoting peace and regional stability amid ongoing conflicts.
